SLA Configuration Example

Application Example

sla configuration example

Port 0/25 of switch 1 connects to port 0/17 of switch 2. The starting of
the SLA function needs the supporting of CFM configuration.

Configuration of switch 1:

Command

Description

Switch1(config)#rtr enable

Enable rtr

Switch1(config)#rtr 1 sla

Create  the  sla  entity  with  ID  as  1
and  enter  into  sla  configuration
mode.

Switch1(config-rtr-sla)#slaname sla1

Set sla service name as slal.

Switch1(config-rtr-sla)#set Signamax.com vlan200 src-
mepid 1025 dst-mepid 2017

Set the detection attribute of rtr1.
Signamax.com: The maintenance
domain of the SLA entity
vlan200: the SLA service example
1025: source MEPID
2017: destination MEPID

Switch1(config-rtr-sla)#cycle 10 num-packes 5 avg-
cyclenum 5

Set  the  scheduling  period  as  10
seconds;  the  number  of  the
packets  during  each  period  is  5;
the  number  of  average  statistics
periods is 5.

Switch1(config-rtr-sla)# avgdelay-alarm 100

Set the alarm threshold of the uni-
directional delay as 100ms

Switch1(config-rtr-sla)# avgrndtrpdelay1larm 100

Set the alarm threshold of the bi-
directional delay as 100ms.

Set Jitter alarm threshold as
100ms.

Switch1(config-rtr-sla)#avglost1larm 20

Set the alarm threshold of packet
loss rate as 20%.

ageout 200 life forever

Start the scheduling 1 to schedule
rtr entity 1 and start scheduling at
once; the ageout time is 200s; the
survival time is forever.
