Within MLE 1 and MLE 2,
by themselves
, the Background and Preset buses are
electronically the farthest upstream, Key 1 is displayed mid stream and Key 2 is
displayed downstream.
~
Visually, all images on the background buses appear
behind
both keyers.
~
In the default state, a key enabled on Key 1 is displayed visually
over
the two
background buses (and all transitions), but visually
under
Key 2.
~

over
the
background buses and Key 1.
~

button is pressed in Key 1, the priority is changed and Key 1 is
displayed visually
over
Key 2.
•
Within MLE 3 itself, the Program and Preset buses are electronically the farthest
upstream, DSK 1 is displayed mid stream and DSK 2 is displayed downstream.
~
Visually, all images on the background buses appear
behind
both DSKs.
~
A key enabled on DSK 1 is displayed visually

the background buses (and all

~
The
Fade to Black
module is electronically downstream of the entire switcher.
Regardless of the MLE selected on air,
Fade to Black
will visually take any
switcher MLE to black.
•
When MLE 1 is
re-entered
into MLE 2 or MLE 3, or when MLE 2 is re-entered into
MLE 3, the rules for upstream and downstream apply.
~
Visually, all images on MLE 1 (including backgrounds and keys) appear
behind
MLE 2 and MLE 3.
~
Visually, all images on MLE 2 (including backgrounds and keys) appear
over
MLE
1, but
under
and MLE 3.
~
Visually, all images on MLE 3 and the DSKs appear
over
MLE 1 and MLE 2.
•
When MLE 2 is re-entered
upstream
into MLE 1 (a condition shown in dotted lines on
the illustration above), the rules for upstream and downstream are slightly changed.
~
Visually, all images on the re-entered MLE appear
under
the destination (upstream)
MLE’s two keyers — regardless of the bus on which the MLE is re-entered. The
re-entered MLE moves upstream electronically — visually behind all downstream
MLE’s (except itself).
