Adjust the
SAT
knob to change the color saturation of the selected matte generator.
Saturation can be adjusted from 0 (monochrome, or no saturation) to 100 percent —
full color saturation.
•
Adjust the
LUM
knob to change the luminance of the selected matte generator.
Luminance can be adjusted from 0 (minimum brightness) to 100 percent (maximum
brightness).
4. Wash Section
The two buttons in the
Wash Section
allow you to create
washes
(or “blends”) between
two different colors.
•
Press
WASH 1
to enable wash background 1 for the selected destination matte
generator.
•
Press
WASH 2
to enable wash background 2 for the selected destination matte
generator.
When a wash button is lit, the selected wash replaces the current single matte color.
When the button is off, the original
single
matte color is restored.
Once a wash is created, the wash can be applied to one (or more) of the five destination
matte generators. Refer to the section “
” on page 6–19 for details.
Creating Washes
Use the following procedure to create a wash.
1. Ensure that your preview monitor is set to the desired MLE.
2. In a selected MLE, choose the desired
function
for which you want to create a wash. For
example:
•
Press
WIPE
to create a wash for a pattern border color.
•
Press
COLOR BKGD
(
1
or
2
) on the bus row to create a wash for a full screen
color background.
•
Press
MATTE FILL
(in Keyer 1 or 2) to create a key fill wash.
•
Press
PST PATT
(in Keyer 1 or 2) to create a wash for a key preset pattern border
fill signal.
•
Enable a
border
function in Keyer 1 or 2 (e.g.,
BORD
,
OUTL
) to create a wash for
the key border.
3. In the
Matte
group, the MLE chosen in step 2 will be automatically selected, along with
the proper matte destination button.
4. Press
WASH 1
or
WASH 2
to display the
Wash Menu
.
5. Press
BKGD Type
to display the
Wash Background Type Menu
.
Note
In the
Matte
group, you can also
manually
select the desired MLE and
destination matte generator.
