knob to adjust the size of the timecode. You can select between
normal, double or triple size digits.
3. Press
Done
to accept the new position and size of the VTR Timecode.
• If the color of the timecode overlay is yellow , the video that is selected on the
Preset Bus is the source device itself.
• If the color of the timecode overlay is gray , the video that is selected on the Preset
Bus does not match the timecode of the overlay — a different source has been
selected, however, the system continues to update and display the timecode value.
• If the legend
<VTR TIMEOUT>
is displayed, the switcher has lost communications
with the serial controlled device.
This completes the procedure to modify the size and position of the VTR Timecode .
Safe Title and Center
The Safe Title Setup Menu allows you to modify the following settings:
• Center — to reposition the Center Cross Hairs.
• Top/Left — to reposition the top or left Safe Text border.
• Bottom/Right — to reposition the bottom or right Safe Text border.
• Safe Text — to reposition the placement of the minimum text lines.
• Modify Name — to change the name of the Safe ID.
• Reset — to reset the parameters to their default values.

Title and Center Preview Overlay ” in the Synergy Series Installation Guide .
Safe Title
Press SAFE TITLE to toggle the Safe Title Overlay overlay On and Off .
The Safe Title overlay places a SMPTE standard safe title and safe action grid on the
main preview output as displayed in the following figure:
Safe Title Overlay
• The Safe Title box (inner box) outlines the area that text is legible for the vast majority
of home TV sets.
• The Safe Action box (outer box) outlines the region that viewers should be able to
follow action
• The two small Minimum Text horizontal lines (also referred to as Safe Text ), indicate
the minimum font size that you can choose to ensure that text is legible on nearly all
sizes of television receivers.
