15. PN7462 family USB
The Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a four-wire bus that supports communication between
a host and one or more (up to 127) peripherals. The host controller allocates the USB
bandwidth to attached devices through a token-based protocol. The bus supports hot
plugging and dynamic configuration of the devices. All transactions are initiated by the
host controller.
15.1 USB features
•
Fully compliant with USB 2.0 specification (full speed)
•
Dedicated USB PLL available
•
Supports 14 physical (7 logical) endpoints including one control endpoint
•
Each non-control endpoint supports bulk, interrupt, or isochronous endpoint
types.
•
Single or double buffering allowed
•
Support wake-up from Suspend mode on USB activity and remote wake-up
•
Soft connect supported
15.2 General description
The host schedules transactions in 1 ms frames. Each frame contains a Start-Of-Frame
(SOF) marker and transactions that transfer data to or from device endpoints.
