The 8632TXE module supports up to 32 000 table entries in its forwarding
engine. The 8632TXM module is an M module and supports up to 128 000
table entries in its forwarding engine, which supports large layer 2 and
layer 3 configurations, including Internet routing tables.
The 8632TXE module does not support R or M mode. The 8632TXM
module supports R and M mode.
8648TXE and 8648TXM modules
The 8648TXE and 8648TXM modules provide 48 autonegotiating
10BASE-T/100BASE-TX ports that use 8-pin modular (RJ-45) connectors.
Ports operate either at 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps up to distances of 100 m with
CAT 3 or better unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable. The following figure
shows the 8648TXE or 8648TXM module.
