Module installation and connection

Procedure steps

Step

Action

Turn on and configure the terminal or a communications port on
the PC using the parameters in the following table.

See the PC or terminal user manual for instructions.

Insert the 9-pin receptacle end of the console cable into the
console connector on the 8691 SF/CPU or 8692 SF/CPU
module, or to the maintenance port of the WSM.

Attach the 9-pin plug end of the cable to the serial
communications port on the back of the PC or terminal.

Connecting a modem to the SF/CPU

Use an AT or Hayes-compatible modem and serial cable to provide remote
dial-in access to the CLI.
