4.1 Display and operation for powering up
4.1.1 What to check before turning the power on
Before turning the instrument power switch on, read " 2.3 Grounding and power connection " and check
the instrument grounding and power supply voltage.
4.1.2 Turning power on and off
The instrument has the three operating modes listed below. The operating mode is set by using the power
switch (rear panel) and the standby switch (front panel).
Power on The instrument is operating, has been set up, and a measurement can be performed.
Power off The instrument is disconnected from the power supply (inoperative)
Standby Power is supplied to the instrument, but the instrument is inoperative.
The general procedures for turning the power on and off are described below.
■ Turning the power on
Make sure that the power cord is inserted into the power inlet and is plugged into an appropriate power
source. Make sure that the power switch is set to the "
|
" position.
Press the standby switch to turn the power on. The startup screen will be displayed on the LCD and the
instrument will then be operational.
■ Setting the instrument to standby state
To set the instrument to standby mode when the instrument is operating (power on), press and hold the
standby switch for at least four seconds. The shutdown operation will begin and after about 10 seconds
the instrument will be in standby mode (not operational).
■ Turning the power off
When the instrument is in standby mode, perform either or both of the operations listed below.
Set the power switch to the "

" position.
Remove the power cord from the power inlet or unplug the power cord from the outlet.
In normal use, it is not necessary for the instrument to be in the power off mode.
