Adding Menu Items
Adding Menu Items
You can add items to the TeemTalk menus so that they run programs
or snapins when selected. A directory called
snapins
immediately
below the TeemTalk directory must be used to store programs,
shortcuts to programs, or snapins that you wish to attach to
TeemTalk.
A standard text file called
menu.txt
in the
snapins
directory
specifies the menu items that are to be added. For example:
Settings | Hotspot Editor | 6
Snapins | Bitmap Editor | 1
Each line in the
menu.txt
file is divided into three sections separated
by | characters.
The first section specifies the name of an existing or new menu in
which the menu item is to appear. If this is a new menu then it will
be added immediately to the left of the
Help
menu.
The second section contains the name of the menu item. This must
be the same name as the program or snapin
.dll
file. Note that when
this menu item is clicked, if TeemTalk finds a
.dll
file with the same
name in its
snapins
directory it will attempt to load and run it. If
there is no
.dll
with the same name, TeemTalk will assume the item
is a program or a shortcut to a program and attempt to run it as such.
The third section is a number that represents the position in the menu
where the new item should be added. If the number is greater than
the total number of items in the menu, the item will be added at the
end of the menu. Note that a dividing line between groups of menu
items is counted as an item.
