Adjusting Front Draper Belt Tension
Figure 3.118: Front Deck Adjusting Bolts
Draper belt tension is factory-set, but it should be checked
before operating.
Figure 3.119: Stepped Position Indicators
The stepped position indicator gauges are used to precisely
align each side of the front and rear decks. Each notch (A)
represents an adjustment of 1 mm (3/64 in.).
Figure 3.120: Left Side Front Deck Shown
–
Right Side Opposite
1.
Loosen three clamp bolts (A) on each side of
the header.
2.
Loosen jam nut (B) on the left side.
3.
Turn adjuster nut (C) to set the draper tension. Proper
tension is achieved when the draper lines up with
indicator notch (D).
IMPORTANT:
Do
NOT
tighten draper above the indicator notch (D).
Drapers only need to be tight enough to prevent
slippage.
Overtightening drapers may result in the following:
•
Joining bolts pulling out of draper
•
Damage to the rollers or bearings
•
Twisting and wrinkling of drapers
4.
Note the position of the stepped position indicator
gauge (E).
