Term

Definition

Torque angle

A tightening procedure where the fitting is assembled to a precondition (finger tight)
and then the nut is turned further a number of degrees or a number of flats to
achieve its final position.

Torque-tension

The relationship between the assembly torque applied to a piece of hardware and
the axial load it induces in the bolt or screw.

Tractor

Agricultural-type tractor.

Truck

A four-wheel highway/road vehicle weighing no less than 3400 kg (7500 lb.).

Washer

A thin cylinder with a hole or slot located in the center and is to be used as a spacer,
load distribution element or a locking mechanism.
