8.1.5 O-Ring Face Seal (ORFS) Hydraulic Fittings
1. Check components to ensure that sealing surfaces and
fi
tting threads are free of burrs, nicks, scratches, or any
foreign material.

2. Apply hydraulic system oil to O-ring (B).
3. Align tube or hose assembly so that
fl
at face of
sleeve (A) or (C) comes in full contact with O-ring (B).
4. Thread tube or hose nut (D) until hand-tight. The nut
should turn freely until it is bottomed out.
5. Torque
fi
ttings according to values in Table

NOTE:
If applicable, hold hex on
fi
tting body (E) to
prevent rotation of
fi
tting body and hose when
tightening
fi
tting nut (D).
6. Use three wrenches when assembling unions or joining
two hoses together.
7. Check
fi
nal condition of
fi
tting.
