SAN LUN Mapping
73
7.4.2 ADD NEW MAP Section
In this section you will locate the logical drive to which you will be mapping to, assign a LUN (logical unit
number) to the logical drive, set the permissions of the mapping, and select which ports or channels of
the controller you want the logical drive to be seen on.
In the ADD NEW MAP section, the option “Host Port” displays the following choices for your controller:
C0P0, C0P1, C1P0 and C1P1. Where C0 represents the left or lower controller and C1 represents the
right or upper controller, and P0 indicates the port marked Host 0, FC Host 0, or “IN” 0, and P1 represents
the port marked Host 1, FC Host 1, “IN” 1 on each controller. Choose the ports you want the logical drive
to be seen and to which you have cables connected.
7.4.3 SELECTED HOST HBA PORT CONNECTION Section
In the SELECTED HOST HBA PORT CONNECTION section, a graphic appears when a Host HBA Port
is selected, and illustrates the physical connection from the Host HBA Port to the connector at the rear
of the enclosure. This enables you to see the physical topology while performing the mapping, which is
helpful to fully implement the supported topology you selected during the hardware configuration and
setup.
(This option is not applicable to switch configurations.) In an Active-Active configuration one might setup
a fail-over mapping where one Host HBA Port is connected to the Host 0 port on the controller and the
other Host HBA Port is connected to the Host 1 port on the controller. When a “Fail-Over” condition occurs
the hardware re-routes the connection, and the results are seen by clicking the HBA Port that you
mapped for the “failed-over” condition and you will see the mapping is now on this port and not on the
failed port. This provides a visual confirmation of a failover.
