SCSI backplane combo/backplate
assembly removal
Before you begin:
Read “Safety information” on page 230.
Note
1. The illustrations in this book are similar to your
server; details might vary.
2. To replace the SCSI backplane combo/backplate
assembly, reverse this procedure.
To remove the SCSI backplane combo/backplate
assembly, do the following.
1. Power-off the server and all external devices; then,
disconnect the server from the power source.
2. Remove the server cover. See “Removing the
left-side cover (tower model)” on page 103 or
“Removing the cover (rack model)” on page 104.
3. Remove the SCSI drives. See “Installing a drive in a
hot-swap bay” on page 129.
4. Remove hot-swap fan assemblies 1 and 2 from the
server. See “Replacing a hot-swap fan assembly” on
page 139.
5. Disconnect SCSI backplane cables.
6. Remove the two thumbscrews located on each side
of the SCSI backplane assembly latch.
