Check the gears for freedom of movement or rotation
on the shaft.
Engage the mainshaft and countershaft gears.

Apply oil to the countershaft oil seal lip.
Install the mainshaft and countershaft assemblies as
a set into the left crankcase.
sure to install
the thrust
washers.
NOTE:
Each shift fork has an identification mark; L for the
left fork, C for the center fork and R for the right fork.
Coat the shift forks with oil.
Install the shift forks into
shi grooves
w i t h t h e i r identification marks facing u p ( r i g h t
crankcase side).
Apply oil to the shift drum guide pin grooves and
journals.
Install the shift drum and insert the shift fork guide
pins into the shift drum guide pin grooves.
