B Replacing Control Card
This appendix describes how to replace an existing GigaVUE-HC3 control
card. There are separate procedures for the following:
• Standalone Node on page 127
• Node in Out-of-Band Cluster on page 128
• Node in Inband Cluster on page 130
PREREQUISITE: Software version 5.0 or higher must be running on the
GigaVUE-HC3 node.
Before starting the procedures in this appendix, backup the entire configuration
on the node to a text file. This will later be used to reconfigure the
GigaVUE-HC3 node.

Be sure to use an ESD grouping strap on your wrist or ankle before
touching any cards.
Standalone Node
The following procedure is to replace the control card on a standalone
GigaVUE-HC3 node.
To replace a control card on a standalone GigaVUE-HC3 node:
1.
Follow the procedure in Removing the Control Card on page 83 to remove
the existing control card.
2.
Insert the new control card and slide it into place.
3.
Turn both latches inward.
4.
Insert the fan tray following the procedure in Inserting a Fan Tray on
page 80 .
5.
Plug in the power cable.
6.
When the node powers up, log on to it over the console port.
7.
Switch to Configure mode.
a.
Type en <Enter> to switch to Enable mode.
b.
Type config t <Enter> to switch to Configure mode.
