PRT-HC3-C16 Notes and Rules
Keep in mind the following notes and rules when using the PRT-HC3-C16 module:
100Gb/40Gb Ports
PRT-HC3-C16 provides 16 QSFP28 ports, each labeled
with a C prefix. The ports are designated as C1 to C16
from left to right when viewed from the front. The upper
ports have odd numbers: C1, C3, .. C15, while the lower
ports have even numbers: C2, C4, .. C16.
For port LED states, refer to Port Status LEDs on page 43.

Transceivers
For details about the supported transceiver, cable type, and connectivity specifications, refer

“GigaVUE-OS Compatibility and Interoperability Matrix” .
Maximum PRT-HC3-C16
Modules Per Chassis
The maximum number of PRT-HC3-C16 modules per chassis is four. Each module can
support up to sixteen 100Gb ports, for a total of 64.
Network, Tool, Hybrid, or
Stack Ports
The 100Gb/40Gb ports on the PRT-HC3-C16 module can function as network, tool, hybrid,
or stack ports.
Stack-Links
The PRT-HC3-C16 module on GigaVUE-HC3 can connect to all GigaVUE nodes that
support 40Gb through a 40Gb stack-link, using SR4, ESR4, and LR4 optics, with the
following exception:
• PRT-HC0-C02 on GigaVUE-HC2

Interoperability Matrix” .
Inline
Ports
The ports on the PRT-HC3-C16 module can be configured as inline network or inline tool
ports, supporting logical bypass on 100Gb or 40Gb ports.

Inline network ports and inline tool ports do not support port breakout.
