CAUTION
BlackDiamond a-series modules require specific minimum versions of ExtremeXOS software to be recognized by the
MSM (see
Table 6
). Software builds earlier than the listed versions do not support the specified I/O modules.
If you attempt to install one of these I/O modules before upgrading the software on your MSM-G8X, the module will
not be recognized by the software and it will not power up. The following error messages are similar to the messages
that may be displayed on the console or in the log. (Samples represent an unrecognized module in slot 2.)

On the console: ERROR:
Unknown cardtype in slot 2 - please program the eeprom
●
In the log:
<Error: HAL.Card.Error> MSM-A: Unable to read cardtype for slot 2
