show ip dns cache
Description
This command shows the content of the DNS cache. The DNS cache buffers replies of the
DNS server for a brief time. This allows other queries for the same name to be replied to
directly without sending another query to the DNS server.
Requirement
You are in the User EXEC mode or in the Privileged EXEC mode.
The command prompt is as follows:
cli>

cli#
Syntax
Call the command without parameters:
show ip dns cache
Result
The content of the DNS cache is displayed.

show ip dns name-server
Description
This command shows information about the DNS servers configured on the device. The
table contains the index, the address type (e.g. IPv4) as well as the IP address and the
origin.
Requirement
You are in the User EXEC mode or in the Privileged EXEC mode.
