Caution when working in the engine
compartment
The engine and adjacent components in the engine
compartment become very hot when the engine is
running. The coolant reservoir is pressurized.
The fans can start running automatically at any
time.

Stop the engine and, if possible, let it cool.
e
Keep body parts, clothes, long hair and jewelry
away from all moving parts, such as fans and
drive belts.
e
Wear protective gloves that protect against hot
parts.
e
Only top up coolant when the engine is cold and
the vehicle is level. Do
not open the coolant
reservoir when the engine is hot.
Emergency starting
Starting the vehicle using unsuitable jumper cables
or following incorrect procedures can cause short
circuits and potentially a fire. A highly explosive
gas mixture can form around the battery during
emergency starting.
Moreover, there are injury risks in the engine com-
partment due to battery acid and automatically
running parts such as for e.g. radiator fan.
Before providing or receiving emergency starting:

Towing
Danger of significant vehicle damage through tow-
starting, push-starting or towing.

Never tow-start or push-start the vehicle.
e
Do not attempt to tow the vehicle.
e
Call a roadside assistance or breakdown re-
covery service.
e
Have the vehicle transported with both axles on
a recovery vehicle, transport truck or trailer.

Before towing or having the vehicle towed:

Flat Tires
Depending on the driving speed, the vehicle can no
longer be steered safely when the tires are
damaged.

Never continue driving with a flat tire.
e
Stop the vehicle safely in line with the traffic
conditions and repair the damage.

After a collision
The safety systems may not be operational (e.g.
seat-belt pretensioners and airbags) after a colli-
sion. The safety systems can then no longer pro-
tect you.

Have the safety systems checked even if they
were not triggered.

Have triggered safety systems replaced. Visit
an authorized Porsche dealer. Porsche recom-
mends an authorized Porsche dealer, as they
