ciency and driving comfort, and is active by de-
fault. Coasting occurs after the accelerator pedal
is fully released. When the accelerator pedal is
pressed again the engine is quickly and easily en-
gaged and coasting stops.

Engine, transmission and battery are at oper-
ating temperature

No great uphill or downhill gradients

Slowly remove your foot from the accelerator
pedal.
The engine is disengaged and runs at idling speed.
The vehicle rolls forward without engine braking
effect.
Initiating coasting mode manually
When adopting an anticipatory driving style, de-
pending on the traffic, coasting can be initiated
manually to increase efficiency. The same applies
to the active use of the engine brake, for example
driving into a vehicle in front or a red light. More
forceful braking or operating the gearshift paddle
or selector lever can activate efficient engine
overrun shut-off in these situations.

ble gear
Driving off with Launch Control
The Launch Control function is used to achieve
maximum acceleration from a standstill.
WARNING
Loss of control over the
vehicle or endangering
other road users
In some situations (poor road conditions, driver in-
attention, etc.) control over the vehicle may be lost
or other road users may be endangered as a
result.

Only use Launch Control on public roads if road
and traffic conditions permit.

Do not endanger other road users when driving
off with Launch Control.
Information
Stresses on components increase significantly
when driving off at maximum acceleration com-
pared to normal driving off.

Engine is at operating temperature.

SPORT PLUS mode activated.
1. Press the brake with your left foot.
2. Quickly depress the accelerator pedal fully and
hold it down.
The engine speed levels off automatically. A
message appears on the instrument cluster in-
dicating that the Launch Control function is
active.
3. Release the brake within a few seconds.
Driving off with e-Launch

E-Hybrid vehicles
The e-Launch function is used to achieve maxi-
mum, purely electric acceleration from a standstill.

The high-voltage battery should be as fully
charged as possible.
1. Activate E-POWER mode.
2. Press the brake with your left foot.
3. Press the accelerator pedal as far as the E-
POWER pressure point and hold it there.
A message appears on the instrument cluster
indicating that the e-Launch function is active.
4. Release the brake within a few seconds.
Information
In E-POWER mode, the accelerator pedal has a hy-
brid-specific
pressure point for the optimized de-
livery of electric power. The combustion engine is
switched on when this pressure point is exceeded.
