Disposal
Hand in old batteries at a battery col-
lection point.
Never dispose of old batteries as
household waste.
Battery care
Information
A good battery charge state will help prevent the
battery from freezing. A discharged battery can
freeze even at 32 °F (0 °C), but a fully charged one
only freezes at –40 °F (–40 °C).

vehicle

If the vehicle is left for long

and lids of the vehicle should
be closed.

Information
The battery will run down even if the vehicle is out
of operation.

To maintain its function, charge the battery ap-
proximately every 6 weeks or connect it to a
trickle charger suitable for AGM (
A bsorbent
G lass M at) batteries.
Porsche recommends the charger and charge
maintenance unit from Porsche Tequipment.

Store the removed battery in a dark, cool place
where there is no risk of frost.

Charging a frozen or
damaged battery.
If a frozen or damaged battery is charged, there is
a danger of explosion and chemical burns.

Never attempt to charge a frozen or damaged
battery.

Batteries should only be charged in a well ven-
tilated area.
1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the plastic cover.
3. Open the cap on the positive terminal for
emergency starting
