8. Disengage the angle bracket and insert the
locking pin in the relevant bore on the inside of
the roof frame.
9. Press the fastening bracket upward. If the fas-
tening bracket cannot be pressed upward with-
out exerting force, realign the carrier.
10. Tighten the fastening screws in the supports of
the two carriers slightly , but do not tighten
them fully. Make sure that the locking pins are
still secure and that the carrier bars cannot
slip.
11. Tighten the fastening screws alternately clock-
wise to a torque of 4.5 ftlb. (6 Nm) using the
torque wrench.
12. Insert key and turn clockwise to unlock. Then
fit the cover trims if necessary.

Re-tighten the fastenings after a short journey
and check them again at regular intervals.

The screw connections must be checked more
frequently on bad roads. Loosening or loss of
mounting components can result in serious
accidents.
Fitting accessories

1. Remove the carrier cap.
2. Insert the mounting components into the T-
groove provided.
3. Close the support cover.
4. Always read the relevant installation instruc-
tions for fitting and securing accessories.
Closing profile trim
For protection against moisture and dirt and to
prevent wind noise, the T-groove of the profile trim
should be closed when the fasteners are not in
use.
