driver's door is additionally closed or the driv-
er's seat belt fastened.

If none of these requirements are met, the engine
has to be started
manually 30 seconds after
leaving the vehicle. A message stating that the en-
gine has to be started manually appears on the in-
strument cluster.

The vehicle response after leaving it depend on
correct use of the driver's seat belt.

Displaying energy flow
The Hybrid Energy Flow display indicates the flow
of energy between the combustion engine, high-
voltage battery and wheels.

Displaying Zero Emission in the PCM
The Hybrid Zero Emission display shows how long
the vehicle was driven without the combustion en-
gine as a percentage.

Displaying E-Drive Assist on the instru-
ment cluster
E-Drive Assist is used as an aid for metering the
electric drive power.
The green area shows the accelerator pedal trav-
el. The further the accelerator is pressed, the
more electric power is output. The combustion en-
gine is switched on at the power threshold
E max .
The available power thresholds are dependent on
the selected drive mode.
The information in the center of the scale shows
the approximate electric range. The arrows above
and below indicate whether or not it is likely that
the displayed range will be achieved with the cur-
rent driving style and currently activated loads.
Displaying E-consumption on the instru-
ment cluster
E-consumption shows the average electric con-
sumption for the vehicle drive and for comfort fea-
tures (e.g. air conditioning) since the vehicle
started or as a cumulatively added value.
Displaying Boost assistant on the instru-
ment cluster
Boost assistant shows the percentage of the
electric vehicle drive used for acceleration.
The scale is gray if insufficient boost is available.
The scale fills with white as the boost charges until
the maximum is reached.

Turn the mode switch to the left or right to se-
lect the desired driving mode.
The light indicator for the selected drive mode
lights up and the drive mode is displayed in the
digital speedometer.
