2. Select the climate style for the respective air-
conditioning area:
Switching Eco mode on and off
When Eco mode is switched on, the air condition-
ing system operates particularly energy efficiently.
The level of comfort in the vehicle may be reduced
in order to improve fuel economy (e.g. the vehicle
interior may take longer to heat up or cool down).

The footwell temperature can be individually ad-
justed relative to the overall interior temperature
for the front air-conditioned areas.

Switching the ionizer on and off

Vehicles with ionizer
In regions with poor air quality – e.g. in large cities
– the ionizer can help achieve better air quality in
the vehicle interior.
Ionization itself does not produce any odor.

Switching automatic air-recircula-
tion mode on and off
In automatic air-recirculation mode, the outside air
supply is regulated depending on the air quality. At
outside temperatures below approx. 41 °F (5 °C),
air-recirculation mode is deactivated automatically
to prevent the windows from misting.
