Procedure
The test progresses as follows:
–
The pump increases the pressure to the set value, and the sweep starts.
–
The admittance for each pressure point is plotted out on the screen and forms the tym-
panogram curve.
You can set these values in
Menu
>
More settings..
>
Pressure range
and

Sweep direction
.
During the measurement, two diamond markers are shown:
–
an admittance marker just to the right of the admittance axis, indicating the current admit-
tance
–
a pressure marker below the pressure axis, indicating the current pressure.
Pausing the test
–
Steady: Press to pause test.
–
Flashing: Press to continue.
The test resumes at the intensity it came to or was interrupted in.
Stopping the test
–
Press to stop test.
2. To make a new sweep, press
Start
.
You can save up to 3 separate measurements for each ear.
3. When you have finished testing one ear, switch ears, if needed.
4. To continue testing, press
Start
and test the other ear.
5. To view tympanometry results, see
The diagnostic tympanometry result
.
6. When you have finished testing, see
8.5.2
The diagnostic tympanometry result
The
Tymp
test screen provides the tympanometric curves, norm area, the resulting Type, TPP, and ECV/EBV for the curve
shown.
All other tympanometric results are shown in the
Tymp Data
screen (see below).
