NOTE:
Enabling the IDE controller automati-
cally changes any installed SCSI controller to a
secondary controller and might change the IRQ.
If you have an IDE hard disk, you must also run
the Setup program at power-on to set the drive
parameters.
PCI SCSI Controller and SCSI Termination
If you have a SCSI device installed in the system, check that the Embedded PCI
SCSI Controller (Adaptec 7850) parameter is enabled (see Table Section 2-18).
If you have
both
internal and external SCSI devices installed and connected to
the on-board SCSI-2 host adapter, use the SCSI Setup Utility program to set
“External” SCSI device termination. Run the SCSI Setup Utility when you com-
plete the system configuration with the ECU (see “SCSI Setup Utility” later in
this section).
Shadowing and Caching Features
The shadowing and caching features should be left enabled.
(4) Step 4: Examine Required Switches
Select Step 4 to view any required switch and jumper settings on installed boards. To view
the required settings, highlight the board you wish to view, and press
Enter
.

To check the current settings of a
board, you must physically verify the settings.
For example, you must power off the system and
remove the system cover to verify the current
system board System Configuration Switch
(SW4) settings Switch setting information is
provided at the end of this section.
If you have a printer set up, you can print the settings of a particular board or option. You
can also save the settings to a file that you can use to print on another computer that is
connected to a printer. Press
F7
for a list of print options.
(5) Step 5: Save and Exit
Select Step 5 to save your configuration and reboot your system.
