Quad-Speed CD-ROM Reader
All hard disk systems come with the Quad-Speed IDE CD-ROM Reader (assigned as drive
E) as standard equipment. The CD-ROM reader is a 5 1/4-inch, IDE device that installs in
the 5 1/4-inch accessible device slot and cable-connects to the secondary PCI IDE
connector (J32) on the system board. To add a CD-ROM reader, see the next subsection for
5 1/4-inch device installation procedures. See Section 4 if you need to remove and reinstall
the CD-ROM reader.
Use the following jumper setting information to set your CD-ROM reader configuration.
NOTE:
The CD-ROM reader jumpers are
located on the rear panel of the device. These
jumpers enable or disable the cable select
feature, the slave device configuration, and the
master device configuration. For standard Image
P90E or Image P100E configurations, the
jumpers are set correctly at the factory.
