Step 3: View or edit details — lets you view and change system board settings. You must
select this step when you are setting up the system for the first time.
Step 4: Examine switches or print report — allows you to view the required switch and
jumper settings of a particular board. You can also select a print option to print the
required settings of a particular board.
Step 5: Save and exit — lets you save the system configuration and exit the utility.
NOTE:
If you are setting up the system for the
first
time,
you must select Step 3
, even if you did
not install an expansion board. This step config-
ures the system board in your system.
The following subsections describe each of the configuration steps in sequence.
(1) Step 1: Important EISA Configuration Information
Select Step 1 for information about using the ECU to configure your EISA system.
NOTE:
It is recommended that you select Step
1 before continuing with the ECU utility. Step 1
contains an overview of the process for selecting
and configuring EISA or ISA expansion boards.
