If You Are
Configuring
Then
Plug and Play
ISA Board
1. If you have a Plug and Play OS installed, enable “Plug and Play O/S”
in the Setup utility. (See “Setting System Parameters“ earlier in this
section. Select the “Advanced” menu from the Setup main menu and
enable the “Plug and Play O/S” parameter.)
2. Install the Plug and Play board in your system (see Section 3 for
procedures).
3. Load the ECU utility (see “How to Load the ECU” in this section).
Note: do
not
use the ICU utility or any other utility shipped with the Plug
and Play board. Doing so may cause resource conflicts.
4. Select “Configure Computer or Peripheral Devices” from the ECU
main menu. Your system automatically loads Plug and Play configuration
information.
5. Check or change your configuration (see “Configure Computer or
Peripheral Devices - Step 3: View or Edit Details” in this section).
6. Save your changes and exit the ECU utility (see “Configure Computer
or Peripheral Devices - Step 5: Save and Exit” in this section).
Non-Plug and
Play ISA
Board
1. Load the ECU utility (see “How to Load the ECU” in section).
Note
: do
not
install, move, or remove the non-Plug and Play board in
your system until
after
the configuration procedure is completed.
2. Configure your system and non-Plug and Play ISA board (see
“Configure Computer or Peripheral Devices - Step 2: Add or Remove
Boards” in this section). Also check the documentation that comes with
the board for resource allocations.
3. Check or change your configuration (see “Configure Computer or
Peripheral Devices - Step 3: View or Edit Details” in this section).
4. Save your changes and exit the ECU utility (see “Configure Computer
or Peripheral Devices - Step 5: Save and Exit,” in this section).
5. Install the non-Plug and Play board in your system (see Chapter 3 for
procedures) and power up the system.
