GUIDE FOR CONFIGURING EXPANSION DEVICES
Refer to Table Section 2-17 for a quick reference to configuring optional expansion de-
vices. For details, see the following subsections and the referenced sections and subsec-
tions in the table.

EISA Expansion
Board
1. Install, move, or remove the EISA board in your system (see Section
3 for procedures).
2. Load the ECU utility (see “How to Load the ECU” in this section).
3. Read the overview of selecting and configuring EISA or ISA
expansion boards (see “Configure Computer or Peripheral Devices -
Step 1: Important EISA Configuration Information” in this section).
4. Configure your system and EISA/ISA board (see “Configure
Computer or Peripheral Devices - Step 2: Add or Remove Boards” in this
section).
5. Check or change your configuration (see “Configure Computer or
Peripheral Devices - Step 3: View or Edit Details” in this section).
6. Save your changes and exit the ECU utility (see “Configure Computer
or Peripheral Devices - Step 5: Save and Exit” in this section).
PCI Expansion
Device
1. Install, move, or remove the device in your system (see Section 3 for
procedures).
2. If you need to allocate I/O resources, open the Setup utility (see
“Setup Utility” earlier in this section). Select “Advanced” from the Setup
utility main menu, and enable the “PCI Devices - Combed I/O Resource
Allocation” parameter from the Advanced menu.
3. Load the ECU utility (see “How to Load the ECU” in this section).
4. Select “Configure Computer or Peripheral Devices” from the ECU
main menu. The system automatically loads PCI configuration
information.
5. Check or change your configuration (see “Configure Computer or
Peripheral Devices - Step 3: View or Edit Details” in this section).
6. Save your changes and exit the ECU utility (see “Configure Computer
or Peripheral Devices - Step 5: Save and Exit” in this section.
