2-4 Setup and Operation
POWER ON
Once any options are installed and the peripherals are connected, press the power button to
power-on the system (see Figure Section 2-3). The user lamps and reset button are also
identified in the figure.

The system has a built-in checking program that automatically tests the components at
power-on. One beep indicates that the system has successfully completed its power-on test.
If there is a problem, a series of beeps may occur. If this happens repeatedly after powering
on the system, power off the system and see Section 4 for troubleshooting.
NOTE:
If the system displays a message
indicating that system settings have changed,
run Setup (see “Setting System Parameters”).
If a problem occurs, and is not indicated by beeps, check the following items, then turn to
Section 4 for troubleshooting. Check that:
n
the power switch for the system unit and monitor are on.
n
all cables and power cords are tightly connected.
n
the electrical outlet is working.
n
the monitor's brightness and contrast are adjusted properly.
n
all options are properly installed (see Section 3 for option installation).
