Configuring the SSID for Intranet WLAN Access
This section describes how to configure the connectivity settings for Intranet
WLAN access.
STEP 1
After you enable the SSIDs and specify the wireless connectivity type for each
SSID, click
Next
.
If SSID1 is enabled and is set to Intranet WLAN Access, the SSID1 window opens.
STEP 2
Enter the following information:
•
SSID:
Enter the SSID name.
•
Broadcast SSID:
Check the box to broadcast the SSID in its beacon frames.
All wireless devices within range are able to see the SSID when they scan
for available networks. Uncheck the box to prevent auto-detection of the
SSID. In this case, users must know the SSID to set up a wireless connection
to this SSID.
•
PC Visibility:
Check the box so that the wireless clients on the same SSID
will be able to see eachother.
STEP 3
In the
Security Settings
area, specify the wireless security settings.

Security Mode:
Choose the security mode and configure the
correspoinding information. For security purposes, Cisco strongly
recommends WPA2 for wireless security. For example, if you choose WPA2-
Personal, enter the following information:

Encryption:
WPA2-Personal always uses AES for data encryption.

Shared Secret:
The Pre-shared Key (PSK ) is the shared secret key for
WPA. Enter a string of at least 8 characters to a maximum of 63
characters.

Key Renewal Timeout:
Enter a value to set the interval at which the key
is refreshed for clients associated to this SSID. A value of 0 indicates that
the key is not refreshed. The default is 3600 seconds.

STEP 4
In the
Advanced Settings
area, enter the following information:
