Example: Tightening application with 20 channels, data format ASCII incl. set values.
The data quantity is calculated as follows:
1 x 128 bytes (tightening application result)
+ 20 x 128 bytes (tightening position results)
= 2668 bytes
Thus, 6 data elements (512 bytes each) are required.
The partner controller must not always provide the entire theoretically possible number of data elements.
The communication unit only writes to those data elements that are actually required.
The absolute data element number and, if necessary, the first data word of an application result can be
determined using the operating program. There, the start address can be individually specified for each
application block as well as for each single-channel tightening process
The examples assume that each application writes its results to data elements reserved for this
application starting with data word 0. It is also possible to start at a higher data word. However, less
tightening position results will then possibly fit into the first data element. The start address must only be
pushed back to the point that the application result still fits into the first data element (512–128 bytes
[the reserved memory requirements are requested] = 384 bytes = DW 192).
Example
6 single channels, data format ASCII, only actual values
6 x 138 bytes are transmitted, each tightening channel in its own telegram.
Here, the data quantities are not rounded to the next power of two, as in the application tightening
results. Thus, the following configuration is possible:

If the data element's limit of 512 bytes was exceeded, e. g. if the results output for channel 0.4 was
configured with DE0/DW414, the result of this channel would no longer fit into data element 0 and the
results output would cause a system error.
Tip:
When configuring the results output, ensure that the results of the channels all fit into one data
element.
