Manual Faxing

Call the remote location.

DIAL FAX NUMBER THEN PRESS START appears in the LCD
display.

Note: For a successful fax transmission, it is imperative that steps 5 to 7
occur in the proper order.

When finished talking, instruct the person at the remote location to start
their fax machine. They can then hang up.

The remote fax machine will send the initial fax tones.

Wait until you hear the fax tone from the remote fax machine.

Press the Start

button on the WorkCentre 490cx. The machine

begins to transmit.

Replace the handset.
