WARNING! DO NOT INSTALL THE WASHERS FROM THE FRONT SCREW
21 SIDE.
Before installation lubricate bolts 19, 21 thread and threaded holes with
УГ
-6 sealant (al-
ternatively with Loctite 243, Loctite 262,
Анакрол
-202 or
Фиксатор
-6).
Tighten bolt 19 with 180 to 220 N·m (from 18 to 22 kgf·m) under which there is a shim
18, and then tighten bolt 21. Bolts 19 and 21 tightening in the reverse order is not admissible.
Between the spring bracket 1 and cover 33 on the side of the bolt 21 there should be a
clearance within 1 - 2 mm, which ensures the connection efficiency. Should the first leaf ends of
the 6
х
6 trucks rear spring be worn by half of their thickness interchange the first and second
leaves. It is not recommended to interchange the leaves on the trucks having a load over 12 000
kg on the bogie.
To dismantle U-bolts 2 of the 6
х
6 trucks rear suspensions (see Fig. 50) without
decoupling the torque rods jack the truck up, place a stand under the walking-beam axle or under
the truck frame. Unscrew the U-bolt nuts 4 and take off the spring pad 3. Lower the truck onto the
stand in such a way that a gap is available between the spring and walking beam. Turn the
walking beam by a small angle and remove the U-bolt.
Remove the aged grease, mud and rust from the walking-beam hubs at every disassem-
bly. Replace the worn out parts (walking-beam bushings 27, guard rings 11) if need be. During
the reassembly fill the “g” cavity under the ring 11 edge with grease
Литол
-24, remount the walk-
ing beam, wipe dry the thread of the walking-beam nut 24 and axle and lubricate with grease
УГ
-
6 sealant (alternatively with
Фиксатор
-6,
Анакрол
-202, Loctite-243, Loctite-262 243 or 577).
Torque the nut 24 to 80 N·m (8 kgf·m), then back off by 1/6 a turn. The sealant squeezing-out in-
to the gap between the end faces of the walking-beam nut 24 and bushing is not allowed. Torque
coupling bolt 26 to 44-56 N·m (4.4-5.6 kgf·m).
Fill lubricant
Литол
-24 into the walking-beam hubs by shooting through the lubricator
22 according to the Chart of Lubricants and Working Fluids. Fill the lubricant in until squeezing
through the guard ring 11.
During assembly lubricate bolts 14 thread and threaded holes in walking-beam brackets
16 and 17 of rear suspension with
УГ
-6 sealant (alternatively with
Фиксатор
-6,
Анакрол
-202,
Loctite 243, Loctite-262).
Torque the torque rod pin nuts to 600 N·m (60 kgf·m). If the cotter pin holes fail to
match with nut slots, tighten up the nut into coincidence and cotter it.
Rear spring torque rod rubber-metal bearings during operation do not require mainte-
nance.
The shock absorber should be disassembled and reassembled in workshops keeping re-
quired cleanliness. Polished surfaces of the rod, operation cylinder and other parts should be pro-
tected from dents and other damages.
Fill the cylinder with damping fluid in accordance with the Chart of Lubricants and
Working Fluids. It is not acceptable to fill the shock absorber with the working fluid in unrestrict-
ed amount and to use other fluids as working; the lack of damping fluid can cause insufficient ef-
forts of the shock absorber and the damping fluid excess can cause shock absorber failure.
The shock absorber should exhibit uniform resistance being expanded or compressed.
The rebound effort must be within 5.95-8.05 kN (595-805 kgf), while the compression effort must
be within 1.52-2.28 kN (152-228 kgf). Rebound and compression efforts decrease of more than
