The final drive is mounted onto axle case 10 (Fig. 41) via 0.8 mm thick paronite gasket 9,
secured thereon with thirteen bolts and two studs.
Eleven bolts and studs are located outside, and two bolts in the bevel gear space. The in-
ner bolts become accessible only after removing side cover 6. Spring washers are fitted under the
outer bolts and stud nuts. The inner bolts are cotted with wire.
Final drive gears and bearings are lubricated with oil filled into axle case and final drive
case up to the inspection hole level. Oil is entrapped by gears, splashed over, gets into bevel gear
space of final drive case via roller bearing 2 (see Fig. 40), and then flows down to the axle case.
The driving bevel gear bearings are lubricated with oil from bevel gear space, which is supplied to
the bearing body via pocket in the case cover and oil supply union.
