5.2.3.2 Cardan drive of the trucks and special chassis with long base differs from that
of the base truck by the modified drive of the intermediate axle, which is a cardan drive consisting
of the front shaft 2 (Fig. 39) with intermediate support and a rear cardan shaft 4 with splined con-
nection balanced in set.
The intermediate support bearing is lubricated in accordance with the lubrication chart.
The cardan shafts maintenance as per the maintenance procedure approved for the truck.

5.2.4 Driving Axles
5.2.4.1 The driving axles are drive-through type axles with the upper location of the main
gear.
5.2.4.2 Intermediate axle final drive — is of dual type, comprising a couple of spi-
ral-tooth bevel gears 1 and 14 (Fig. 40) and a couple of helical-tooth spur gears 4 and 31. A
symmetrical bevel-type differential with four satellites is bolted to the driven spur gear.
The final drives are marked with plates bearing ratio indication, which are placed under
the bearing body cap bolt of the driving spur gear. Final drive gears differ by the marks on the
driving and driven spur gears (Tabl. 3).
