This section explains how to place originals in the automatic document feeder.
Allowed original sizes

origin als.
Be fore in se rting origin als into the doc ume n t fe ede r tray, be sure to remove an y
staples or pape r c lips.
If originals h ave damp spots due to c orre ction flu id, ink or pas te u p glu e , w ait u n til
th e orig inals are dry before mak in g c opies. Oth erwise th e interior of the mac h ine
or th e doc u me n t glass may be soiled.
Do n ot u se th e followin g origin als. Incorrect origin al size de te c tion, origin al
misfeeds, an d smudge s may res u lt.
Transparenc y film or othe r tran spare nt material for bac ku p c opy, tracin g paper,
c arbon pape r, the rmal pape r or origin als printed with the rmal tran sfe r in k ribbo n
sh ou ld n ot be fed th rou gh the doc ume n t fe ede r. Orig in als to be fe d th rou g h th e
fe eder s h ou ld no t be damag ed, c ru mple d, folded, loose ly paste d toge th e r, or h ave
c ut-out holes. Orig in als w ith mu ltiple pu n ch e d h ole s othe r than two- h ole or
th ree -h ole pu n ch ed pape r may not fe ed corre c tly.

e dge is at a position away from th e fee d slot of th e doc u men t fe e der tray.
