Replacement Procedures
Paper Feed Motor
(Figure 6–18)
Removal
1. Disconnect the AC power cord from the rear of the printer. Open the top
cover.
2. Lift the upper paper guide (1). Remove four screws (2) and washers (3),
two ground clips (16), and the lower paper guide (4).
3. Disconnect feed motor cable connector J32 (5). Cut the cable ties as
necessary to free the cable.
4. Remove two screws (6) and the belt guard (7).
5. Remove four screws (8), two sets of washers (9 and 10), and the four
nuts (11).
6. Slip the belt (12) off the motor pulley (13).
7. Separate the motor (14) from the right side plate (15).
Installation
1. Place the motor against the right side plate.
2. Slip the belt over the motor pulley.
3. Install four screws (8), two sets of washers (9 and 10), and the four nuts.
4. Install the belt guard and two screws (6).
5. Connect feed motor cable connector J32. Retie the cable as necessary.
6. Install the lower paper guide, two clips, and four washers (3) and screws
(2). Close the upper paper guide.
7. Check the paper feed belt tension as described on page 5–26 of Chapter
5, Alignments and Adjustments. Adjust if necessary.
8. Close the top cover and connect the AC power cord.
