Power-On Self Test (POST) sequence
Plug the printer into an electrical outlet. The printer comes on automatically.
The printer does a Power-On Self Test (POST) sequence.
1.
lights up.
2.
The splash screen activates, then all icons beside the display (Back, Home, Help, Start, and Cancel) light
up for approximately 0.5 second.
3.
Energy Star
appears on the screen for approximately five seconds.
4.
Lexmark
and a progress bar indicating the remaining time for POST appear on the screen.
5.
The icons beside the display light up for approximately one second.
6.
The engine initializes.
7.
The scanner assembly moves from the homing position, and then returns.
8.
The fluid system initializes.
9.
The home screen appears.
If any of these fail to occur, remove and reinstall the ink cartridges, and then repeat POST. If the POST remains
incomplete, then see
“Troubleshooting table” on page 2-2
. Find the symptom, and take corrective action.
