1 Turn off the printer by unplugging the power cord. Wait for
10 seconds, and turn on the printer.
Does the problem remain?

2 Check if the J1 and J57 cables on the card reader board
are properly connected.
Are the cables properly connected?
Go to step 3. Reseat the J1
and J57 cables
on the card
reader.

Check if the control panel assembly is connected to the
J42 connector on the card reader board.
Is the control panel assembly connected to the J42
connector on the card reader board?
Go to step 4. Reseat the J42
cable connector.
4 Replace the card reader board. See “Card reader
removal” on page 4-40 .
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 5. Problem resolved
5 Replace the control panel assembly. See “Control panel
assembly removal” on page 4-35 .

Go to step 6. Problem resolved
6 Replace the system board. See “System board
removal” on page 4-32 .

3 Check the BPD if there is ink in the chambers. Check
the BPD for any damage, holes, and punctures.
Is the BPD free from any damage and is in ink
present in the chambers?
Go to step 4. Go to step 7.
4 Check the J68 cable for damage and proper
connection. Reseat the J68 cable.
Is the J68 cable free from any damage?
Go to step 5. Replace the J68
cable.
5 Bring the printer up in Manufacturing mode. Choose
Manufacturing Test > Initial prime sequence.
Does the initial prime run correctly?
Go to step 6. Go to step 6.
