Flow chart
Do not interchange screws during reinstallation, as it may damage the machine. Always take note of
“Power supply removal” on page 4-10
“Duplex unit removal” on page 4-11
“Rear cover removal” on page 4-25
“Left cover removal” on page 4-26
“Right cover removal” on page 4-29
Remove the control panel assembly. See
“Control panel assembly removal” on page 4-35
“Card reader removal” on page 4-40
Remove the ADF/scanner assembly. See
“ADF/Scanner assembly removal” on page 4-42
Remove the midframe cover. See
“Midframe cover removal” on page 4-50
Turn the gear clockwise, and move the printhead carrier assembly to the center of the printer.
Take note of the following when moving the printhead carrier assembly:
Do not pull on the cables or tubes.
Place hands on the printhead carrier card shield to move the assembly.
Raise the trap door on the ink mist cover to access the encoder strip attachment point.
Press the leaf spring (A) to release the encoder strip from the right side.
