1 Turn off the printer by unplugging the power cord. Wait for
10 seconds, and turn on the printer. Run a test print. From
the home screen, touch
> Print
Reports > Demonstration Page .
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 2. Problem

2 Check all the cable connections on the system card.
Reseat all the cables.
Are the cables properly connected and free from any
damage?
Go to step 3. Go to step 6.
3 Check all the motors and their corresponding cables for
any damage.
Are the motor cables free from any damage?
Go to step 4. Go to step 6.
4 Replace the ADF/scanner assembly. See “ADF/Scanner
assembly removal” on page 4-42 .

Go to step 5. Problem

5 Replace the system board. See “System board
removal” on page 4-32 .

6 Replace the print engine assembly. See “Print engine
