3 Check the J26 connector for proper connection.
Reseat the J26 cable. Check the EOF sensor for
any mechanical damage.
Is the EOF sensor free from any damage?
Go to step 4. Go to step 11.
4 Remove the duplex unit. See “Duplex unit
removal” on page 4-11 . Check the staging sensor
flag for any mechanical damage. Check the J34
cable and connector on the system board for proper
connection. Reseat the J34 cable.
Is the staging sensor flag free from any
damage?
Go to step 5. Go to step 11.
5 Check the J35 cable and connector on the system
board for proper connection and any damage.
Reseat the J35 cable.
Is the J35 cable and connector free from any
damage?
Go to step 6. Go to step 11.
6 Check the following:
• If there are any damage on the duplex rollers.
• If there are any damage on the duplex flaps.
• If the duplex unit is properly inserted.
Is the duplex unit free from any damage?
Go to step 7. Replace the duplex
unit. See
“Duplex unit
removal” on
page 4-11
.
7 Check the feed assist rollers for wear and
contamination. Check the paper for skid marks,
which could be possible roller slips during picking.
Are the feed assist rollers free from wear and
contamination?
Go to step 8. Do any of the
following:
• Clean the rollers.
• Go to step 11.
8 Check the pressure arm and pressure arm roll for
any damage.
Is the pressure arm assembly free from any
damage?
Go to step 9. Go to step 11.
9 Check if the feed rollers initialize during POST.
Do the feed rollers initialize during POST?
Go to step 10. Go to step 11.
10 Replace the system board. See “System board
removal” on page 4-32 .
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 11. Problem resolved
11 Replace the print engine assembly. See “Print
engine assembly removal” on page 4-84 .
Does the problem remain?
Replace the
printer. Problem resolved
