1 Check the wall rib housing for wear, contamination and
damage.
Is the wall rib housing dirty, damaged, or worn?
Go to step 2. Go to step 5.
2 Check the input tray paper dam for wear and damage.
Is the input tray paper dam free from wear and
damage?
Go to step 3. Go to step 6.
3 Check if the pick assembly can go down to its pick position
every time a tray is inserted.
Remove the tray, and manually trigger the pick assembly to
go down by pushing the lever.
Is the pick assembly able to go down to its pick
position when triggered?
Go to step 4. Go to step 8.
4 Check the pick tires for wear, contamination, and damage.
Are the pick tires dirty, damaged, or worn?
Go to step 7. Go to step 5.
5 Replace the wall rib housing. See “Wall rib housing
removal” on page 4-12 .
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 6. Problem

6 Replace the input tray. See “Input tray removal” on
page 4-8 .
Does the problem remain?

1 Bring the printer up in Manufacturing mode. From the
home screen, touch
> Manufacturing
Test > Initial prime sequence.

Go to step 2. Problem resolved
2 Check the Back Pressure Device (BPD) if there is ink in
the chambers. Check the BPD for any damage, holes,
and punctures.
Is the BPD free from any damage and is ink present
in the chambers?
Go to step 3. Go to step 8.
