C30 Scanner motor problem
The home position switch
does not turn on within 10
s after the scanner has
started to return at low
speed.
The home position switch
does not turn off within 1 s
after the start of forward
rotation.
The home position switch
does not turn on within 3 s
after the start of reverse
rotation.
Broken scan-
ner motor
coil.
Defective
home position
switch.
Poor contact
in the home
position
switch con-
nector termi-
nals.
Loose scan-
ner drive belt.
Loose scan-
ner wire.
Loose screws
holding the
scanner wire
retainers.
Defective
main PCB.
Check for continuity across
the scanner motor coil. If
none, replace the scanner
motor.
Check if CN7-2 on the main
PCB goes high when the
home position switch is on
and goes low when the
switch is off. If not, replace
the home position switch.
Check for continuity across
the home position switch
connector terminals. If none,
replace them.
Reinstall the belt and adjust
the tension.
Reinstall the wire.
Retighten the screws and
adjust the image focus.
Replace the main PCB and
check the operation.
