The charge erasing section consists of the blank lamps and the cleaning lamp.
The blank lamps (BL) are 44 LEDs. All the LEDs light to create leading edge and trailing edge
blank cut margins. During exposure, the required number of the 44 blank lamps on both
sides are lit depending on the paper size and the magnification ratio, removing charge from
the sections of the copy where no image is to be formed.
The cleaning lamp (CL) removes residual charge from the drum surface.
