(14) Setting the optical section fan motor control
Make the following adjustment when the mirrors and other optical components are
unusually prone to dust due to environmental reasons, causing a background to appear on
the copy image.
Procedure
Start
Enter simulation mode.
Enter 98 with the numeric keys.
Press the print key.
Press the stop/clear key.
Exit simulation mode.
End
Press the print key.
Change the setting with the
zoom-up/down keys.
The new setting is stored.
Setting range: 0 or 1
• If 0 is selected, the optical section fan motor is under normal control.
• If 1 is selected, the optical section fan motor operates as follows:
T: time from the previous copying cycle to the next copying cycle (min.)
N: the number of papers fed during the next copying cycle
While N < 2T, the motor does not operate.
When N = 2T (or 20), the motor turns on.
For example, if continuous copying is started with the number of copies preset to 15 when
T is 5 minutes, the optical section fan motor turns on when N reaches 10.
