Control unit menu
The [Control Unit] menu provides settings for the Trackball Control Unit.
[TX Pulse]
[TX Pulse] is operative when [TX Mode] is set to [Normal]. Pulse
length is automatically selected according to range and shift set-
tings, however it can also be set manually. Select a shorter pulse
length for better resolution; a longer pulse to increase detection
range. To raise resolution on the zoom displays, for example, select
the setting [1/4] or [1/2].
• [1/4]: Resolution is increased but the detection range is shorter
than with [1/2].
• [1/2]: Resolution is increased but the detection range is shorter.
• [Normal]: For general detection of schools of fish.
• [x2]: Resolution is decreased; detection range is increased. De-
pending on the range, the number of transmissions is 1/2 of [Nor-
mal].
• [Manual]: Pulse length can be set manually regardless of the
range.
[Pulselength
(msec)]
Operative when the [TX Mode] is [Normal] and [RX Band Width] is
[Manual]. A smaller number provides better resolution but decreas-
es the detection range. A larger number provides greater detection
range but decreases the resolution.
[RX Band]
Operative when the [TX Mode] is [Normal]. RX band is automatical-
ly set according to TX pulse length. To reduce noise, switch from
[Normal] or [Narrow]. For better resolution, switch from [Normal] or
[Wide]. To set RX band manually, click [Manual].
[RX Band Width
(kHz]
[RX Band Width (kHz] is operative when [TX Mode] is set to [Nor-
mal] and [RX Band] is set to [Manual]. Choose a smaller figure to
reduce noise; a larger figure to improve resolution.
